How to Overcome the challenges of an interfaith marriage during the holidays

Now the times has come again for holiday preparation of family gatherings. As Christmas, Hanukka (Channuka) as well as other holidays are around the corner, it can sometimes be a challenge to observe more than one religious holiday in a short period of time. We have somewhat of a unique situation because I am Christian and my husband is Jewish, we have both a menorah and a Christmas tree. Of course, our child enjoys receiving gifts for both holidays but more importantly we are trying to teach him about tolerance and diversity.  I believe that children should be shown that not everyone believe and practice their religion in the same way and that we should COEXIST. This year I have decided to pack goodie bags for my son’s class for the holidays but they will be a blend of both Christmas and Channuka!
